On November 4, 2022 our office responded to the 4100 block of the North Service Rd., in West Sullivan for possible human skeletal remains being located. Members of our office and our Criminal Investigations Division responded to the area and located skeletal human remains. An investigation was conducted at the scene and evidence was collected. At the time identification could not been determined and the remains were released to the Crawford County Coroner's Office to send off to a forensic anthropologist. 

On Monday May 22, 2023, our office was contacted by the Crawford County Coroner regarding the identity of the remains. Contact was made with next of kin and they were informed of the findings. The remains were identified as belonging to James Wright, 47, of Sullivan, Mo. Mr. Wright was reported missing on August 9, 2022 to our office, and was last seen around July 25, 2022. At this time there is no information as to cause of death.
